Continuing Education Requirements and Online Classes
Your real estate license is awarded – and maintained – through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). To maintain your salesperson real estate license, all licensees must comply with post-licensing (if within your first two years of licensure) or 14 hours of continuing education requirements (consisting of 11 hours of specialty credit and 3 hours of core law credit) and pay the necessary renewal fees. This also applies to those licensees with a suspended license. If your required education is not complete and/or reported, you will not be able to renew your license through DBPR.
As a licensee, even though you are not active with a board of Realtors®, you are responsible for maintaining your continuing education status with DBPR.
You can do that online by going to their website at www.myfloridalicense.com . You can also pay your license fee online as well. Brokers have additional licensing requirements so please check with DBPR.

Stay Current! PRO (Pinellas Realtor® Organization) offers continuing education classes.
The Pinellas Realtor® Organization and the Central Pasco Chapter are one of a few Associations that have become a real estate school and a continuing education provider. They did this in order to assist you with as many options for post-licensing and continuing education credits as possible. Many of the classroom-style courses that we offer our members have been approved for continuing education credits and the GRI I course also offers the entire 45-hour postlicensing credits needed for license renewal in your first two years. When they offer a course with continuing education credits, they electronically submit those credits directly to DBPR for you.
